LTO violations and fine prices
Every Diesel n' Steel LTO and HPG fine with its price: no licence, unregistered vehicle, colorum operation, overload and unroadworthy, and how to avoid each.
LTO fines run PHP 150 to PHP 1,000: no licence PHP 1,000, unregistered PHP 750, colorum PHP 500, unroadworthy PHP 300, overloaded PHP 150. HPG checkpoints charge more, up to PHP 2,000.
Every fine in Diesel n' Steel is a straight deduction from the money you just earned, and the expensive ones are all paperwork problems rather than driving problems. The two enforcers work at different rates: the LTO Enforcer issues the standard list, and the rare HPG checkpoint charges considerably more for the same offences.
The checkpoint that catches most players sits at Triple Junction in Matungao and runs from 7am to 6pm, on the Guiguinto route.
The LTO fine list
| Violation | Fine | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Driving without a valid professional licence | PHP 1,000 | Take the exam at the LTO Officer in Guiguinto |
| Operating an unregistered vehicle | PHP 750 | Complete the inspection and registration |
| Colorum operation | PHP 500 | Buy the LTFRB franchise |
| Exceeding authorised passenger capacity | PHP 150 | Turn off Allow Sabit before a checkpoint |
| Operating an unroadworthy vehicle | PHP 300 | Keep parts healthy and fit complete lights |

The HPG rate, for the same offences
The Highway Patrol Group checkpoint is rarer, but when it appears the numbers change.
| Violation | HPG fine |
|---|---|
| No licence | PHP 2,000 |
| No registration | PHP 1,500 |
| Colorum | PHP 1,000 |
| Unroadworthy | PHP 1,000 |
| Overloaded | PHP 500 |
Same offences, roughly double the cost, and the HPG checkpoint itself has only a rare chance of spawning.
The cheapest fine is the one you control
Overloading at PHP 150 is the smallest ticket on the list and the easiest to avoid, because it is a setting rather than a document. Turning off "Allow Sabit" in the jeepney settings takes a second and removes the citation entirely.
That is also the one people forget, because sabit is how you carry three extra passengers and three extra fares on every other trip of the day.
Paying a fine versus fixing the cause
| Fine | Cost | Cost to fix the cause |
|---|---|---|
| No licence | PHP 1,000 | Free to attempt the exam |
| Unregistered | PHP 750 | PHP 2,000 inspection, plus parts |
| Colorum | PHP 500 | PHP 5,000 franchise |
| Unroadworthy | PHP 300 | Roughly PHP 1,300 for oil, coolant and lights |
| Overloaded | PHP 150 | A settings toggle |
Two of the five are cheaper to fix than to keep paying. The franchise and the inspection are the two that require real saving, which is why the realistic order is: pass the free exam, fix the cheap parts, then save for the rest.
What to do if you already have a ticket
Pay it and continue, then work down the list of causes in the order on the LTO hub. A driver with a licence and roadworthy parts only has two remaining risks: registration and the franchise, and both are one-time costs rather than recurring ones.
