Quick answer

Engines run from free to PHP 32,500, brakes PHP 900-3,500, tires PHP 750-1,600 each, batteries PHP 500-1,000. The free 4BC2 engine is fine until you can afford the 4JJ1 at PHP 7,000.

Every jeepney in Diesel n' Steel is built from the same families of parts, and every family has a free option and progressively more expensive ones. The free parts are placeholders, not a build. The question is which upgrade removes the most pain per peso while you are still driving a route.

Engines run from free to PHP 32,500, brakes from PHP 900 to PHP 3,500, tires from PHP 750 to PHP 1,600 each, and batteries from PHP 500 to PHP 1,000. Fluids are the cheapest upgrades in the game and the easiest to skip by accident.

  3. Tires, T-05 at PHP 1,600 a corner.
  4. Battery, BA-05 at PHP 1,000.
  5. Engine, starting with the 4JK1 at PHP 5,500 or the 4JJ1 at PHP 7,000.

FAQ

Which upgrade should I buy first?

Better engine oil and coolant, then brakes. Fluids are the cheapest parts in the game and they protect the most expensive one.

Do tires really matter?

Yes. The free tires have a 3 star life rating and a heavy jeepney eats them.

Can I run the free parts and still make money?

On short routes, yes. On Malolos, the free brakes and tires cost more in crashes than the upgrades would have.
