Sarao Custombuilt V1 and 2.0
Sarao Custombuilt V1 and Model 2.0 in Diesel n' Steel compared: which one is free, the seat difference, attachment options and earnings on each route.
The two Sarao models are the starting point of every Diesel n' Steel career. The Custombuilt V1 is the Alpha-era vehicle and was exclusive to players who joined during alpha testing. The Custombuilt Model 2.0 is free to everyone, seats two more than the V1, and carries the widest set of attachment options in the game.
If you are starting today, the Model 2.0 is the one you will be driving.
The two side by side
| Spec | Sarao Custombuilt V1 | Sarao Custombuilt Model 2.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free, Alpha players only | Free for everyone |
| Seats | 16 plus 3 with sabit | 18 plus 3 with sabit |
| Fuel tank | 50 L | 50 L |
| Gross weight | 2,400 kg | 2,650 kg |
| Net weight | 1,250 kg | 1,500 kg |

Earnings on each route
| Route | Sarao V1 | Sarao Model 2.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Guiguinto - Bulakan | PHP 228 to 247 | PHP 252 to 273 |
| Balagtas - Bulakan | PHP 266 to 285 | PHP 258 to 315 |
| Malolos - Bulakan via Atlag | PHP 306 to 475 | PHP 436 to 525 |
The Model 2.0 wins on the two routes that matter most. Two extra seats is a small number until it is multiplied by a full Malolos load several times an hour.
What the V1 gets instead
The V1 is lighter, at 1,250 kg net against 1,500 kg, which makes it slightly easier to handle in tight spots. It is also the rarer vehicle, because it cannot be bought by anyone who missed the alpha period. Treat it as a collector's jeepney rather than the one to plan a strategy around.
What the Model 2.0 is good at
| Strength | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Free | No saving period, no risk |
| 18 plus 3 seats | Enough to make short routes worthwhile |
| Widest attachment support | Cheapest vehicle to make distinctive |
| 50 litre tank | Same range as every premium model |
The obvious weakness is competition. Because everyone gets one free, terminals fill with identical jeepneys and loading is a race. A barker or a good queue position matters more here than on any other vehicle.
Upgrading a Sarao
On a 2,650 kg vehicle, the first two purchases that pay for themselves are the engine and the brakes. Engines run from the free 4BC2 at 88 hp up to the PHP 32,500 4HK1 twin turbo at 245 hp, with the PHP 7,000 4JJ1 at 130 hp as the sensible early step. Brakes run from PHP 900 to PHP 3,500.
The full price list is on parts, prices and upgrades, and the attachment and tuning options, which are widest on this model, are on attachments and tuning setup.
